Levels strategy

All elements in Revit are associated to a level, they are the base for all modeling.

• Define the levels that are crucial for design and construction.
  • I recommend using just one level per floor that refers to the finish level.
  • Sometimes you must have a structural level and a lower-face structural level.
  • When using multiple levels, defining the main levels will be important for hiding or not exporting them after (to IFC, for example).
• Strive to keep the number of levels to a minimum.
• Create a level schedule to easily manage and update level information.

Grid strategy

• Do not use pick lines, draw straight lines instead.
• Use dimensions to lock specific distances.
• If grids are shared between files, consider creating a Coordination file where they are defined and using the Copy/Monitor tool
