Before starting the modeling

• Have a single reference level for all existing elements.
  • It is possible to model them in the appropriate level and change the level of reference automatically after with Dynamo
• Prepare the surveyor's DWG by cleaning up unnecessary items.
  • See Inserting DWG Files
  • Use very clear names when saving the DWG.
  • It is possible to insert DWG files without using Current view only for sections, but remember to turn off the DWG files so they do not appear everywhere.
• Create existing survey views with the references used in the Existing Phase.
• Do not create new phases, Esxisting and New Construction are enough.

Modeling

• Avoid in-situ elements. → Use loadable families
  • They are prone to move unexpectedly or even be deleted if the hosts changes
• Do not use pick lines using the DWG.
• Lock existing elements to avoid accidentally moving them.
